Julia Roberts: Why I Won’t Have Botox
Only a Third Of Patients Happy With Results
Cosmetic surgery is no longer a taboo subject. In the early days, many patients did not want to admit to having had any form of cosmetic work, however with more and more celebrities explaining to newspapers and magazines about their surgery, ordinary women are now happier to discuss their own experiences under the knife in the open.
However a new study has shown that although cosmetic procedures are becoming increasingly popular, patients are requesting that the work is subtle so that friends, family and colleagues are unable to tell that they have had work done.
72% of women are said to hide non-surgical procedures such as facial fillers and Botox from their friends and family, with just over a half trying to hide their cosmetic procedure from their partner. Men are even worse with 81% admitting to trying to hide their cosmetic procedure work from friends and family.
In terms of surgical procedures, liposuction is the cosmetic surgery that patients want to hide the most with 34% of women trying to keep their surgery a secret.
Gone too are the days of the telltale signs of Botox injections to the face the taut skin and pulled back look. Instead, patients are requesting a more subtle look to help achieve a more youthful look without the overly-tight look.

Good post, but we must also understand that the greatest treasures are those invisible to the eye but found by the heart. Only then can we figure out what’s most important to us. :p
