UK Patients Opt For Cosmetic Surgery Saver Packages
S3 Therapy: The Latest Anti-Ageing Craze
A new injection dubbed the ‘snoreplasty’ is set to help snorers cure their condition forever and the jab is said to cost just £3.
Many loud snorers have turned to sprays, nose strips or even surgery to cure their snoring however these ‘cures’ are often less than effective and can often cost a lot of money over time. However Dr Al-Jassim, an ENT specialist from Southport and Omskirk NHS Trust in the UK believes he made have found a cheap cure.
The snoreplasty involves the chemical sodium tetradecyl being injected into the roof of the mouth. This chemical acts as a hardening agent that stops the soft tissue at the back of the mouth vibrating, thus stopping the snoring. Mr Al-Jassim has treated around 400 patients so far and claims that 70% have found that the jab has helped their snoring. Even for those who haven’t had their snoring cured, Mr Al-Jassim says they have reported sleeping better and therefore waking up feeling fresher.
The snoreplasty anti-snoring jab looks to be a much better alternative to surgery as there is no large recovery time patients are able go home immediately after the injection and are allowed to eat later that day.
The efficacy of the jab varies from patient to patient. Typically, the jab lasts around 4 months although some patients have found that one jab lasts them an entire year. Given the cost of the jab and the lack of downtime associated with it, this seems like one of the best options available for heavy snorers.
